Services Provided by Academic Libraries in the Modern Era

Abstract

The library is a growing organization, said by S. R. Ranganathan. Information provided by the library is entirely different in the early days compared to the current library environment. The library plays a vital role in providing accurate information to users. In present days, information and services provided by the library must meet the acceptance of the utilisers. That leads to serving a piece of valid and rapid information to the utilisers without wasting their valuable time. In this modern generation, libraries are in the situation to serve some innovative library services, which need by our customers. The research paper explores that, how modern-day library services are useful to utilisers and modern and innovative services provided by academic libraries. This study revealed that current generation services should be different from older gens. The services like web-based services, social media services, etc., provide users to get faster information. That is the only way to give better services for our customers to attract towards the library to utilize. Printed materials like books, periodicals, and other learning resources are must need to research scholars for their research and study-related purposes. The article describes some of these modern services in detail.
