Abstract

Corticosteroids have gained international attention as a potential COVID-19 therapy. No positive or negative effects were found in either high-dose or low-dose corticosteroid regimens. Corticosteroids are often utilized in COVID-19 patients  worldwide, but their impact on clinically important outcomes in specific groups is unknown. By using the low-dose corticosteroids the duration of SARS-CoV-2 virus shedding does not appear to be affected. Patients with severe COVID-19, on the opposite hand, may enjoy corticosteroids. They are only beneficial in cases of moderate to severe disease if oxygen saturation is low.
