Surendranbsk_senthilkumar@hotmail.com
Surfacing techniques are developed to impart desirable properties like corrosion and wear resistance to low cost substrates like low carbon steels. Weld surfacing is capable of processing prefabricated and worn-out components. The various welding parameters influence the heat input, bead geometry and occurrence of weld defects. This paper briefly looks into various methods adapted to model, regulate and control weld surfacing techniques. The knowledge on effects of welding process parameters, percentage of overlap, inter-pass temperature, pulse characteristics, oscillation methods and control techniques is helpful to tailor the properties of the deposits. This review is mainly focused on selected welding techniques that can be readily and economically adopted for surfacing process.
2015-11-16T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Mechanical and Mechanics Engineering (e-ISSN: 2581-3722)http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/JOMME/article/view/5810Automatic Dipping System for Vehicles Headlight2024-08-05T13:49:56+0530Abhishek Vaishnavabhishek18vaishnav@gmail.comRitesh Kumar Nishadabhishek18vaishnav@gmail.com
The purpose of our project is to minimizing the problems of road accidents in night. By the using of this system in our vehicles dazzle problem is almost solved. The number of vehicles on our roads is burgeoning day by day. This is turn forced almost all this vehicle manufactures to think about the extra safety instruments and electronic controls to attach with these products for giving the users a safety derived in all road conditions through a mass flow traffic. If asked, one should always mention that the right driving is very cumbersome due to the dazzling light problems and the frequent dipping of headlights by manual means that often causes fatigue to the driver particularly at the time of peak traffic. The auto dipper can perform a great deal in reducing the manual efforts and fatigue of drivers in dipping the headlamp frequently while driving through highways full of moving vehicles. However, vehicles employed with automatic dippers are not very often seen in our cities, and it may be due to lack of information about the system and also because of giving attention to the people saying that it is not at all practicable in our highways.
2015-09-15T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Mechanical and Mechanics Engineering (e-ISSN: 2581-3722)http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/JOMME/article/view/5814Tensile and Flexural Characteristics of Palm/Glass Sandwiched Polymer Composite2024-08-05T14:17:46+0530P. Portions of these fibers are alkali treated while the remaining kept raw. Both these fibers are sandwiched separately with glass fibers to form two set of plates by reinforcing into polyester resin matrix blend with coconut shell powder using hand lay-up method. Specimens are tested as per ASTM standards. The results reveal that alkali treatment improved fiber quality and a novel composite was developed for producing automobile parts
2015-12-14T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Mechanical and Mechanics Engineering (e-ISSN: 2581-3722)http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/JOMME/article/view/5812Development of Polymer Phase Change Material for Heat Storage Application2024-08-05T14:07:31+0530K. Rajinikkmuthu1991@gmail.com
Polymer Phase change materials (PCM’s) are the materials which can be used to store the thermal energy for a broad range of applications. The unlike conventional storage materials phase change materials may absorbs or release heat at a constant temperature. They store 6– 12 times more amount of heat per unit volume than sensible storage materials. Increasing demand in solar applications and spacecraft thermal control applications requires continuous development of phase change materials to improve its effectiveness and reliability. The energy storage devices, which are as important as to developing the new sources of energy. In this paper, we can show the combination of low molecular weight polyester resin and Calcium Chloride hexa hydrate (CaCl2.6 H2O) is an inorganic PCM that can be used as PCM’s of this study. Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) is an instrument which can be used to measure the thermal characteristics of the phase change materials, Melt Flow Index test were used to characterizing the new developed Compound for storing the heat energy. In this project, the target was to reduce the melting point hence that we could obtain more heat storage for energy saving applications.
2015-10-15T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Mechanical and Mechanics Engineering (e-ISSN: 2581-3722)
