IoT Based Pothole Detection System

Abstract

The major problems that all developing countries are faced are the maintenance of roads. Road infrastructure needs to be good enough to prevent the society from the most terrific accidents takes place due to bad condition of the road like potholes. Potholes are created due to heavy rainfall, the constant movement of overweighed trucks for transportation so; it is our responsibility to maintain these roads properly. We need to develop a system which is monitoring the road condition and also helpful for the drivers to find a good way for suffering. This system automatically updates the status of the road with location information in the cloud. Each road vehicle can access the information from the server according to the potholes present on the road. Need to use a sensor that will major the depth of the pothole in terms of latitude and longitude. Also, GPS for identification of geographical location coordinates of the detected potholes. This will give drivers early warnings about the presence of potholes.
