Abstract

In the era of urbanization due to the rapid increase in vehicles, there is an increase in air pollution. The major pollutants in the air due to vehicle emission are Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbon HC) and Nitrogen oxides (NOx). These pollutants emitted from the exhaust of the vehicle may increase the pollution level further. To monitor the pollution level this portable system can be used. The objective of the portable system is to monitor CO and HC levels emitting from vehicles using CO and HC sensors. If the vehicle crosses the threshold value of emitted pollutants level stated by the government then the buzzer will beep. The emission levels detected will be displayed and on the spot, the user gets to pay the fine and using the GSM module a message will be sent to the user for authentication purposes. The system is portable and can be used by the traffic police officers to check the vehicle whether it is under pollution or not.
