On Some Properties of the Log-Weibull Distribution

Abstract

Through this paper we consider some theoretical properties of the log-Weibull distribution proposed by Jiang and Wang (2013), by deriving expressions for its quantile function, moment generating function, raw moments, incomplete raw moments, percentile measures of skewness and kurtosis, median, mode and geometric mean. Some structural properties of the distribution and certain reliability measures are investigated along with a few results on order statistics. The parameters of the distribution is estimated using the maximum likelihood estimation method and their asymptotic behavior is examined with the help of simulated data sets.
