Green Supply Chain Management Practices' Effect on Sustainability Performance

Purpose: This research aimed to examine the link between green supply chain practices and sustainability performance within export development board registered apparel, with the two objectives of finding out the link between green supply chain management practices and sustainability performance and determining how green supply chain management practices affect sustainability performance.
Literature review: Based on other scholars’ contributions to the topic, discussed definitions of key variables (GSCM practices and sustainability performance) and their relationship.
Methodology: This study adopted a field survey approach where data was collected across a population through the sampling of 184 export development board-registered apparel manufacturing organizations. Primary data was collected by the use of close-ended questions using convenient sampling method Responses were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques in SPSS software.
Findings: It was observed that, except for green purchasing, other green supply chain practices have a positive impact on environmental performance. Only eco-design and reverse logistics have a strong positive relationship and a positive impact on economic and social performance.
Research implications/limitations: The study concluded that suggesting recommendations such as increasing top management involvement, following environmental regulations, and monitoring and controlling the green supply chain initiates. The study was limited to only export development board-registered apparel manufacturing organizations. But this study could extend to other industries and service sectors.
