Satisfaction Level with Online Learning among College Students in Urban and Rural Areas during COVID-19

The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted each and everyone’s lifestyle around us. Online Learning has become a part and new normal among students in their daily life and it has come to the rescue in this ongoing situation. When the government of India imposed country-wide lockdown and all the schools and colleges were shut and were expecting to open but the continuous increase in the coronavirus cases WHO suggested for online teaching. So, this is where the entire educational institution shifted from the traditional mode of teaching to the online mode. This decision brought a lot of changes in the area of learning and teaching. It explores the opinions and perspectives of students, whether they can cope up with online classes, and to know about the various problems that they encountered due to the shift in the education system as a result of the global pandemic. The study is being conducted for university students of Urban and rural formed the population to check the effectiveness of online learning during Pandemic. The data for this research study were collected from the respondents online because of pandemic using google form from students studying in colleges/ Universities living in Urban and Rural areas. The students studying in the urban areas are familiar with the technology and its uses but in the rural areas the situation is different they can face a lot of issues starting from internet connectivity to the use of the new platform’s for learning. Apart from this, mental health is also one of the issues faced. More than half of the respondents faced online learning has impacted their mental health and the remaining respondents say it has not impacted and a few of them are not clear about this. Online education has its merits and demerits. Initially, the shift towards online classes was quite difficult for students to cope up with. But with time, online education seems to have found its way and has become a daily routine in the lives of students. From this study, I was able to find out the other factors that are affecting the students apart from these and data for this study was collected online if it was direct more data was able related to the study. This study includes student’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges faced during their online learning.
