Abstract

The core idea of this paper was carried out to identify the affecting factors of online food delivery services in the market of undergraduates in western province universities in Sri Lanka and the significant level of those factors. Based on the literature review, ten factors of the service quality, price, delivery time, condition of food delivered, system quality, variety and the number of restaurants, menu, delivery tracking service, the attitude of the delivery person and health effect identified as affecting factors to the decision of choosing online food delivery services or not. Those ten factors are independent variables and going to find are they significantly affect the dependent variable what choosing online food delivery services or not by checking the developing hypothesis. This paper used a quantitative and exploratory approach through the collection and analysis of data from a total of 202 survey respondents. Then the collected data set was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential analytical techniques. IBM SPSS Version 23 was used to analyze collected data. According to the results of logistics, regression uses the odd ratio to measure the level of effect. Online food delivery services have been a newly increasing business globally and also in Sri Lanka. The development of information and communication systems and infrastructure mainly helps to develop their business. These days people with busy life schedule also help with this and delivering food to consumers' doorsteps are very helpful for them also and it increases their quality of life. Still, these businesses are not spread all over the county and from a managerial perspective, the paper contributes to understanding the consumers and creating new strategies based on customer behaviour and spreading these services all over the country.
