Abstract

Transgender community is an important part of the Indian society. The third gender known better as transgender have existed in every culture, race, class and region since the inception of human life has been recorded and analyzed. These groups are different in their biological constructions. LGBTQ community includes Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer peoples. They are the marginalized group of society which faced legal, social, economic, cultural and psychological difficulties.
In year 2011 government of India conduct the census to collects data related to their employment, health and literacy level in first time. In Kerala nearly 3902 Tran’s genders are living according to this census survey. Hence the study focused on various socio economic problems of transgender in context of Kerala and various initiatives taken by government of Kerala for the inclusion of transgender community. The study also covers the perception of transgender community on quality of life.
