The paper is based on the secondary data collected from various sources of Economic Survey, Karnataka at a Glance, Statistical Abstract of the Government of Karnataka and Government of India and such other sources. The collected data has been analyzed by using simple statistical packages like averages, percentages and Compound Growth Rates. Some of the development indicators of Karnataka State are compared with the southern states and also the all India figures. The comparative analysis reveals that the state with all its problems has been performing better compared to the southern states and all India average figures in terms of reduction in infant mortality rate, women mortality rate, performance of agriculture and also the performance of the poverty and other development related indicators. Therefore, the paper suggests that the Karnataka Development Model can be replicated elsewhere in the country where the performance has been much low compared to the Karnataka State.
