Abstract

Bus transports are the most popular and advantageous method of transportation in urban areas. It is one of the cost-effective methods of transportation. In the existing system, a few situations like theft and fraud by passengers or conductors by reusing the old tickets. It is difficult to guarantee the purchase of every price tag through passengers. Tickets will become vain when passengers end their touring. Some passengers may not have the exact change to purchase a ticket. So, to overcome these circumstances, a centralized bus control system will be proposed, where a passenger needs to fill up the details by submitting the required ID and address proof. So that passengers can get a unique ID bus pass card with a unique number (RFID card). This paper proposes an IoT-based efficient contactless Bus Ticketing System for transportation by using RFID and IoT technologies using Arduino. With this technology, a triggering of SMS will be sent to the passenger's mobile number when the passenger swipes the RFID card. Each seat will have an IR sensor from which the passenger gets to know whether the seat is available or occupied. The GPS module sends the real-time tracking position of a passenger in the form of latitude and longitude values to the Arduino microcontroller. Based on the distance fare amount will be deducted from the card.
