Review on Detection of Air Pollution in Vehicles

Abstract

A considerable percentage of air pollution in cities and towns is majorly caused by vehicular emissions. The major focus should be provided on designing and developing systems to reduce the extent of emissions and minimize the pollution caused by vehicles. As per studies, road transport is considered a major driver of hazardous gas emissions in most countries including India. There should be a system designed in such a way that it can automatically detect the pollution caused by vehicles and alert the driver whenever the pollutants in the emissions exceed the specified threshold value. This paper aims at designing a typical system that can detect vehicular air pollution based on the study of various papers that have contributed to estimating the air quality in exhaust gases of vehicles. This includes the revision of the papers that have worked on the prevention of vehicular air pollution using various technologies.
