The Brake system is one of the predominant parts of every automobile. From three-wheeler auto to multi-wheeler trucks, every automobile needs a brake system. A significant part of the brake system is the brake rotor, where the brake pad acts to stop the vehicle. So, it is important to have an optimum brake rotor. Nowadays, the brake disc has replaced the brake drum in most automobile segments. This paper focuses on obtaining the optimum brake disc for an off-road vehicle using simulation software. Initially, a plain brake disc is drafted in Solidworks software and the thermo-mechanical coupled analysis is done in the Ansys software. The main parameters of the brake disc are inner and outer diameter, thickness, disc material. The disc diameters, material, and thickness are fixed. Then a new disc with drilled holes is drafted using the Solidworks software followed by which analysis is also done. Finally, the result obtains for the plain and drilled disc is compared.
