Abstract

Suspension system is one of the major parts of the vehicle which facilitates comfort and better ride on rough roads. It absorbs shocks and vibration thereby provides smooth functioning to the vehicle. In the present work two different types of suspensions such as mono and twin types have been studied under different load conditions. The mechanical properties of Maximum shear stress, factor of safety and deformations were calculated for the Aluminium and stainless-steel materials of two systems and the values were well compared with simulation results of ANSYS. From the results it was found that the mono suspension system with stainless steel material yields better mechanical properties.
