Connecting Rod Design along with Analysis a Review

Connecting Rod is product which is an important part of an IC Engine. It is an intermediate part or a link or a member between the Crankshaft and the Piston. Piston needs to convert reciprocating motion into rotary motion. The piston pin exerts a push force whereas crank pin receives a pull force. Connecting rod is mainly responsible for transferring the power from the piston to Crankshaft. Connecting rod is manufactured in bulk quantity. Different materials are used to manufacture the Connecting rod. Steel, Alloy Steel and aluminum is the commonly used material for Connecting rod. This paper is based on the review of the different design methods of the connecting rod. The assessment of the current methodology for design methods of the connecting rod is also reviewed in this paper.
