Abstract

Modern automobiles advance with sensors, automatic gearing, automated driving, and with ecofriendly fuels. Petrol and diesels are being replaced with more and more vehicles running on cryofuels such as LPG, natural gas, and also with hydrogen. Hydrogen is used in all types of automobiles, and also in locomotives. Hydrogen is obtained from naphtha, and used in compressed form. Hydrogen application as fuels mostly uses fuel cell combined with electric motor. Hydrogen can also be used in spark ignition internal combustion engine. Hydrogen can be used as liquid hydrogen as used in rockets. Hydrogen economy is witnessed throughout world.
