The Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector had now become the major contributor to the economic growth of the country by contributing to industrial production, increased GDP, earnings through exports, generation of employment, region-wise development, diversification of the economy, and bringing out the social ability. But in spite of all the contributions, these industries are facing a lot of difficulties at every end as their problems and issues are very different from those of well-developed industries. The lack of proper management and structure for identifying and enhancing the innovation in this sector results in few success stories. They lack the technical end, managerial support, financial support, poor or underutilized infrastructure, and many other fronts where these industries need guidance and support. However, the literature supports the importance of various factors that enhance innovation but pays less attention to how this process takes place in the MSME sector.
