An Automatic Toll Collection System in Toll Plaza

The collection of toll fees at toll gate causes heavy traffic due to delays in exchange gives. To reduce the traffic at the tollgate, FASTAG system was implemented. In FASTAG system, the detection of Code for the entire vehicle and the amount to charge for specially designed vehicles leads to a problem. In the proposed model, the solution to rectify this problem is discussed. The proposed model has sensors like infrared, load cell and RFID tag to detect the vehicle, type of vehicle and account details. After the toll payment through online, the vehicle can cross the toll gate without any delay. The balance amount will be messaged to the account holder. During the return travel within the 24 hours, return trip amount will be deduced. The Arduino controller with the GSM module is used for monitoring the type of vehicle and messaging to the respective account holder. The toll gate system will record all the types of transactions through a personal computer.
