Tie Rods, which are usually composed of sturdy materials like steel or aluminium, are essential for preserving steering control and wheel alignment. Because of their adjustable nature, precise alignment adjustments can be made to ensure ideal handling and tyre wear. Tie Rods are subjected to a great deal of stress and have to withstand a wide range of road conditions, so durability is crucial for vehicle safety. Tie Rod maintenance and inspection are essential to preventing steering problems and preserving overall vehicle performance. This project aimed to design tie rods that could be manufactured, used to measure vibrations, and subsequently used to reduce them. Using the mobile application (Vibrometer), we will have the ability to quantify the vibration that exists in tie-rods and then work to minimize that vibration.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Yogesh Vasant Sathe, Vilas Dhore Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Advancement in Machines (e-ISSN: 2582-2233) Thu, 28 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0530 Analysis of Abrasive Flow Machining on Al6063 Alloy Using CFD Simulation <p>In this work, simulation with computational fluid dynamics is utilized to model the cutting forces involved in the micro-finishing stage of abrasive flow machining. The process of "micro finishing" is simulated using mathematical models. The goal of the research is to find agreement or discrepancy between the simulated and actual outcomes. For this study, a flexible, polishing instrument made of polishing media is employed. To achieve the desired level of polish, the contact surface of the workpiece and the polishing medium must be in constant motion relative to one another. In this study, the stresses in both radial and axial directions induced by the flow of the polishing liquid within the workpiece fixture are analyzed using a 2D simulation with computational fluid dynamics. In addition, the AFM process of Al6063 alloy is optimized in this work employing response surface methodology. The results of this investigation show that all three machining parameters, as well as several of their relationships, significantly affect the outputs under consideration. In conclusion, an effort was made to predict the optimal machining settings to provide the greatest possible output within the limitations of the experiments.</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> Jakeer Hussain Shaik, Navyakeerthana B, Raghava Raju T Copyright (c) 2023 Journal of Advancement in Machines (e-ISSN: 2582-2233) Mon, 30 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0530 IoT-Enabled Solar-Powered Grass Cutter Revolutionizing Lawn Care for Sustainable Environmental Solutions <p>The important environmental issues surrounding lawnmowers and the small engines frequently used in gardening equipment are addressed in this ground-breaking study. We have discovered significant reductions in hazardous emissions through exhaust characterisation studies using different fuels and oxidizing catalysts. The positive outcomes obtained by merging cutting-edge catalyst systems with environmentally improved fuels like alkylate fuel are particularly significant. The frightening reality that, as of 2020, gas-powered lawn equipment in California posed a greater threat to ozone pollution than all the state's automobiles combined makes these findings of outstanding importance. We offer an answer to this urgent problem an IoT-enabled solar-powered grass cutter that is improved by the incorporation of solar panels, ultrasonic sensors, and an adjustable cutter. Grass cutters and other conventional fuel-dependent machines have long caused environmental damage due to noise pollution, ecosystem disruption, and other factors. With the help of our ground-breaking technology, pollutants are successfully eliminated, precise control is made possible, and energy efficiency is increased. Additionally, obstacle avoidance results in increased environmental friendliness. Analysis in comparison to traditional grasscutters highlights the significant environmental benefits of our method. This study highlights the urgent need for wider acceptance of our lawn mower, the development of solar-powered, Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled garden equipment, and the promotion of change for a more thriving, sustainable environment.</p> Hanumanthu Sai Santosh, G. The incorporation of surface modifications, such as dimples and prisms, is a well-known method to enhance heat transfer and improve fluid flow characteristics in heat exchangers. To improve heat transfer efficiency for the reasons of compactness, energy savings, and emission reductions, among others, innovative heat exchanger designs are essential. The thermal-hydraulic performance of turbulent flow inside dimpled and prism tubes is examined numerically using Fluent in this work when the heat flux is kept constant at 80 kW/m2. The related literature's specialized research works had not previously addressed the suggested novel design or the performance analysis that went along with it. To create critical performance indices for the dimpled configurations in comparison to the conventional circular prism tube, various geometrical and operational parameters (tube diameter ratio/flow modes) are changed. The model demonstrated strong validation against both circular and dimpled prism tube configurations. Additionally, the newly suggested HEX design tube with dimples has positive energy. Additionally, it can be inferred that the recently suggested HEX design tube with dimples has favourable operational characteristics for energy efficiency and environmental effects, including the possibility of reducing CO2 emissions.</p> Neelima Devi Chinta, V.K.
