The current area of research is attempting to include biochar elements, which are good for the environment, into polymer composites as reinforcing components. Biochar was manufactured from SSH biomass waste using a pyrolysis process. Epoxy was used as the matrix and biochar was used as reinforcement to create composites with filler weight fractions of 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%. The thermal conductivity of the composites with SSH biochar filler was found to increase with increasing filler quantity. Experiments measuring electrical conductivity showed that conductivity rose in line with biochar filler content.
