Abstract

Until now, the majority of research
endeavours focused on self-compacting
concrete (SCC), often referred to as selfconsolidating
concrete, have primarily delved
into its rheological properties, with limited
attention given to its practical utilization in
structural engineering ventures. This article
examines how SCC can be used in the design
and construction of both precast concrete
structures and cast-in-place concrete
structures, as well as its role in the repair and
enhancement of existing structures. Initially,
we explore the distinctive characteristics that
render SCC an ideal construction material
for innovative, architecturally intricate, and
technically demanding structures.
Subsequently, the article delves into recent
research findings that underscore SCC's
effectiveness in bolstering the performance of
structural elements in various infrastructure
domains such as bridges, buildings, and other
edifices.
