Abstract

Wall is important part in any structure which separates rooms or spaces in buildings into different parts. Practically all the development part in our nation use bricks and mortar which is made by concrete, fine totals and water as the fixings to construct the divider structure. However, as we know cement and bricks Production process will emits large amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) which may contribute in greenhouse effect and global warming in great extent. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to determine an alternative option to minimize the environmental pollution. So we try to find greatest substitute explanation that can resolve the problem of emission of CO2 during production of bricks so we try investigating plastic bottle bricks (Bottle + Soil) instead of bricks. Reuse of waste plastic bottles is helpful to solve the environmental problem and also reduce environmental pollution. The main objective of this study is to evaluate strength of plastic bottle bricks with comparison of bricks. Therefore, we conduct two tests on PBB (plastic bottle bricks) to evaluate strength which is compressive test and split tensile test of Brick bat filled cubes and cylinder also plastic bottle filled cubes and cylinder. We are used 1:3 proportion of Cement: sand with 0.45 water cement ratio for casting of cubes and cylinders. We observed that compressive strength of plastic bottles increases as compare to conventional bricks and split tensile strength reduces in small extent.
