Abstract

Blockchain-based e-voting systems have emerged as a promising platform for overcoming some of the existing voting-related issues. E-voting, for some time now, has gradually gained ground in electoral systems all over the world. Disputed findings or peoples’ lack of trust in the outcomes, lack of transparency, and guaranteeing the safety of data transfer from one Node to the next were some of the most prevalent problems of the existing E-voting System. The proposed system design incorporates Blockchain technology. It was tested using the unit and ready API. This paper aims to eradicate inconsistencies and ensure credibility in electoral processes by implementing blockchain technology in e-voting systems. The methodology adopted in this research is Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Methodology (OOADM). The Blockchain-Based E-voting System was developed using the Internet and Flutter Technologies, which has led to an e-voting system capable of allowing a secured voting process void of manipulations. Therefore, the electoral system around the world stands to gain a lot from this revolution in e-voting as this might go a long way in improving the way elections are conducted. It proved that the blockchain-based e-voting system is capable of providing data security and secrecy during the voting process. Additionally, it removes inconsistencies in the electoral process which have led to mistrust in time past. In future advancements in e-voting, the “ease of use” should be considered to ensure a smooth transition in electoral evolution.
