Abstract

During mining activities there may arise are difficult situations in the mines such as an increase in toxicity or dust particles of air within the mine, fire outbreaks, etc. This may lead to huge losses of human lives and assets like machinery. This paper proposes the IOT system which comprises of Arduino controller, and sensors that can monitor temperature, humidity, gas leakage, or toxicity of air. Moreover, the system also uses a proximity sensor which can be used on machinery to prevent collisions and on walls of mines to provide automation of light thus saving energy when there is a sudden increase in any of these sensor values, a warning is delivered, which can be useful to save lives of miners.
