Abstract

The Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are the panels with high performance. SIPs have replaced traditional Brick Masonry due to its wide range of advantages as compared to Brick Masonry, hence it is widely used. But at the same time there is problem of Moisture and Air infiltration in SIPs which is most common problem in SIPs which costs the Energy Efficiency of the building. The Air infiltration tests are done using different techniques and infiltration rate is measured with the blowing pressure of 50-75 Pa with different tests. Due to infiltration of air there also persists the problem of moisture absorption in SIPs. To find the solution to this use of different substitute materials are discussed and recommended with lower infiltration rate and also the subsequent effect of moisture in the panels.
