Due to geographical reason, Bangladesh is a disaster-prone country with high frequency rate of natural disaster which causes disproportionate damages in the development efforts. Disaster causes a huge loss of property and lives. So, it is today’s demand to ensure a minimum safety in housing sector of the disaster affected people. Improper design of post disaster shelter cannot fulfillment all desired demand. Considering the environment factor, local resources and suitable place are important for designing post disaster shelter. This research is conducted to find out the criteria which are responsible for the failure of post disaster shelters. Hence, providing a three-dimensional building model of post disaster shelter. The materials of the post disaster shelter are steel, corrugated tin and wood. So, it is lite weight. When the disaster is forecast, every parts of superstructure can be managed. The proposed model can be defined as prefabricated resilience structure. Bangladesh aspects, the proposed model will be economical, durable and reliable. Overall, this paper’s aim is to identify all those barriers while managing post disaster shelters and to discuss some possible guidelines which must be helpful to reach better design solution.
