Abstract

The gradual decrease in the amount of fossil fuel and rise in environmental pollution urges researchers to find new ways of the alternative energy. The reutilization of waste serves nation in two aspects, new alternative source of energy and safe waste disposal or waste minimization. This paper reviews several researches regarding to the waste disposal and energy generation through the thermal degradation of the textile waste by pyrolysis. The effect of experimental conditions of pyrolysis such as temperature, heating rate, retention time on the formation of char and liquid-gas products were investigated and product yields
were determined from the rate of weight loss. Further utilization of the pyrolysis products of the textile waste has been studied.
