Abstract

Enormous amount of flowers are offers in temples so due to that floral waste generation
occur largely during worships, marriages, functions, ceremonies and festivals. Generated
flower wastes are dumped at the accessible places of land or released in the water bodies
which create land pollution and various health hazards. A biological process to convert
floral waste is useful organic fertilizer and would be having a great return. Hence present
study focuses on control of flower waste generation at source and methodology used for
waste composting and uses of finished compost product. Composting is the affordable and
economical method for disposal of flower waste and converts it in to extremely useful
product. Using compost in garden or agriculture has many advantages. Flower waste
compost helpful for growing plants well and improving soil quality.
