Use of Jute Geo-textiles in the Construction of River Side Roads

Abstract

Due to many positive attributes, jute geo-textiles have the ability to be accepted for the applications of biotechnical measures and they have achieved a positive role in the world in their applications. Of all the ingredients of natural geo-synthetics, jute happens to be the best spin able fiber, which ensures or ascertain the ability of jute fabrics to meet the specific requirements under different situations. The low extensibility and comparatively higher initial strength of jute can be enhanced the load bearing capacity of the soil. Jute as a fibrous material is well accepted as environmental friendly material and it is also cost effective. In most of the geo-technical applications, the environmental cost and technical suitability of jute materials with its counterpart man-made materials in many applications are matching although long durability is not a technical necessity.
