Analysis of Retaining Wall on Black Cotton Soil by Using PLAXIS 2D

Abstract

In this paper, analysis of retaining wall of height 4m and 6m on black cotton soil is done. The results are obtained by using PLAXIS 2D software. The study is done for four cases and comparison is shown with each other. Fundamental goal of this investigation is to decide shear power and bending moment on retaining wall constructed on black cotton soil. The model is prepared for retaining wall with and without piles. The conclusion was found that, the retaining wall on black cotton soil with pile is more stable than the retaining wall on black cotton soil without piles.
