An attempt has been made to study the influence of wear parameters such as applied load, sliding speed, sliding distance and percentage of reinforcement on the dry sliding wear of the Al7039 /MoS2metal matrix composites. A testing specimen of G99 standard was prepared using stir casting technique with various reinforcement of 0, 3,6 and 9 % of reinforcement of MoS2 powder in Al7039 matrix material. Process parameters with their values at three levels were followed that given in table 2, combined with orthogonal array of L9 of Taguchi’s technique. Obtained value, after wear testing was tabulated with help of Taguchi’s software to analyze dominating parameter in all 4 combinations of reinforcement. Finally, the variation of result for different parameter were discussed and the analysis of variance were employed to investigate the influence of process parameters on the wear of composite.
