Abstract

Braiding is more important for industrial fabrics rather than consumer articles. Structure of braiding fabrics can be understood by knowing the relationship between the machinery and the yarns. Usually braids are of three categories and special type of braids for composite is known as tri-axial braiding. The circular braids are alternatively called Maypole. Flat braids are made in the form of a flat strip or tape. A new variety of braid is a type of three dimensional braiding. Ribbons, tapes and webbings are all considered as woven narrow fabrics.
