Abstract

This paper explores the advancements in 3D Printing Technology with the latest technologies, printers, and their applications in various industries. 3D printing (Additive Manufacturing is a widely used technology that helps in product design and development, rapid prototyping, and faster change management. 3D Printing Technologies mainly used are Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Selective Laser Melting (SLM), Digital Light Processing (DLP), Multi Jet Fusion (MJF), Material Jetting, Drop on Demand (DOD) and Electron Beam Melting (EBM). The study also involves which 3D Printing Technology is used by specific Industries like Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Goods, Medical and certain applications in the Food Industry. Also, we have analysed 3D Printers with specific raw materials used in different 3D printing technologies in various industries like Automotive, Medical, and Aerospace. 3D printing technology has developed significantly in the last 15-20 years, with a lot of innovations like metal printing, high-speed printing maintaining product quality, large-scale printing (batch or mass production), multi-material printing, bioprinting and sustainable printing. The fastest Product Manufacturing may be at the Design level, Proto level, or Testing level such advancements have disrupted old traditional manufacturing. 3D printing had changes in the complete Product Design and Development Life cycle system the way products are designed, manufactured, tested, and productionised.
