Determination of Limiting Value of Depth of Steel Girder for Railway Bridge using Different Forms of Equations for Maximum Applied Load

The depth of steel girder is determined for maximum applied load using different forms of equations. The economized depth of steel girder is found 110 cm for maximum applied load W = 60 t satisfying the flexural strength of steel (0.6fy) where fy = characteristic strength of steel in N/mm2 i.e. 500 N/mm2 = fy for Fe 500 grade of steel.
