Abstract

There are many categories of technical
textiles, which are dependent on their end
uses. In recent years, technical textiles are the
fastest growing area of the textile field and
industry. Technical textiles have been
developed on the basis of their functionality
and performance rather than the aesthetic
and decorative issues. Growing awareness
regarding the superior functionality of
technical textiles encourages the higher
production of their products. It is stated that
the main markets of technical textiles are

traditional fabrics. Because of the cost-
effectiveness and capability for the

production of complex-shaped items braiding
has become very popular in the
manufacturing of composite materials. For
the purpose of comfort, reliability, and
performance professional sportsmen and
amateurs prefer products from technical
textiles. This idea and concepts of technical
textiles have brought significant development
in modern-day technology. Products of
technical textiles are mainly produced from
newly developed fibers such as Nomex,
Kevlar, Spandex, Glass, and carbon. In
medical textiles, the highly absorbent wound
pad helps to rapid absorption of secretion
from the wound.
