Abstract

The shock absorber is used in automobiles to control dampers and improve the handling of the vehicle on the irregularities of the road. In a conventional shock absorber due to vibration, the energy generated in the shock absorber is the kinetic energy that gets dissipated in the form of heat which is waste and has no further use. The use of an electromagnetic regenerative shock absorber is to recover this heat loss. The proposed electromagnetic regenerative shock absorber uses the linear or rotary generator to convert kinetic energy produced due to vibration into electricity. This eliminates the damper as well as produces electricity. In this, the use of permanent magnets and a copper coil. Hence, in a conventional shock absorber, the heat energy is dissipated, and in the electromagnetic regenerative shock absorber, this energy is harvested in the form of electricity.
