Importance of CAD/CAM and Their Benefits in Garment Industry

Abstract

In textile and apparel industry computer-aided design (CAD) plays an important role. In the broader sense, CAD represents the computer for designing whereas computerized control of the manufacturing process is done by computer-aided manufacturing (CAD). The revolutionary action of CAD is that the designing of fabric transported into mouse and styles from the use of graph paper and stencil. CAD can be used in the textile, fashion and apparel industry starting from initiation and production to many other functions such as lay planning, spreading, pattern making, cutting and finally up to sewing.
