One of the most important sustainable development challenges and a significant international contributor to accidents and fatalities is road safety. According to World Health Organization records, vehicle accidents simply claimed the deaths of at least 10 out of every 100 people. The most significant product on the market now that aids in preventing traffic accidents—likely worldwide drowsy driving detection. The goal of this project is to create a smart alerting system for drivers that prevent drowsy driving on its own. However, drowsiness is a common human condition brought on by a variety of situations. For example, when driving alone on the highway or for a long period, drivers are more likely to become bored and sleep off or even pass out. Most of the driver anti-sleep detection products available on the market nowadays are inefficient and irritant headphones that make irregular noises. To avoid these inconveniences, a robust alerting system must be designed. Therefore, we came up with a solution and successfully created a sleep detection and alarm system for this proposed system. In this project, when a driver sleeps off, an alarm is raised to alert them and is attached to the back of the vehicle. The alarm sounds off for a short period, and then the vehicle tends to stop slowly, allowing the driver to awaken and be ready to stabilize the vehicle they are driving so that we can lower the risk of traffic accidents.
