Abstract

In this survey/review paper, a brief introduction to the review of the smart intelligent materials, structures & systems used for vibration suppression in structures is presented in a nutshell, which serves as a ready reckoner for all the researchers who are pursuing their research in the field of smart intelligent structures. Here, we present the basic terminologies that are used for the design of the intelligent structures, the research perspective, and the applications that could be dealt with within this fascinating area, followed by the conclusive remarks.
