Abstract

In this study, we provide a LoRa-based Internet of Things (IoT) system for monitoring the surrounding environment. The system is meant to gather environmental data, such as temperature and humidity, in the countryside and send it to a central computer for further processing and visualisation. Sensor nodes, a LoRa gateway, and a server hosted in the cloud make up the core components of the proposed system. To gather information about its surrounding environment, a sensor node is permanently installed in one spot. LoRa technology is used to wirelessly transfer the data collection to the LoRa gateway. The data acquired by the sensor nodes is sent to the cloud-based server via the LoRa gateway, which functions as a go-between for the two. The data is sent from the LoRa gateway to the cloud server, where it is processed. The advantages of the suggested system include the fact that it uses very little power, can communicate over great distances wirelessly, and can connect a huge number of devices. There are several ways it might be put to use.
