Abstract

Similar to other nations, India's population density is rising daily for a variety of reasons, most notably because people are moving from rural to urban areas. Due to rise in development, a decrease in the amount of available land, use of tall building structures is growing for a variety of reasons. The stiffness of the structure decreases as it becomes taller. Therefore, the outrigger system is suggested in the current research of work to increase the performance of the building under seismic loading. In the current work, 3 level outrigger structural systems is studied on 20 storey and 40 storey building models for optimal placement by fixing the position of top and bottom outrigger and varying the position of middle outrigger. Using the "ETABS 2018" software, the structure is modeled. Equivalent static method, response spectrum analysis and time history analysis are used to analyse the models. For various models to offer stiffness against static and dynamic loads, the stiffness and efficiency characteristics of the structure are quantified in terms of lateral displacement, storey drift and base shear. To protect the buildings, the parameters ought to be kept to a minimum.
