Abstract

The main objectives of this study are to compare and analyze the behaviour of structures throughout various periods, storey displacements, storey shear, and storey drift. Based on a G+20-storey skyscraper, there are four models. The normal structure will be considered in Model I, the floating column structure in Model II, the shear wall structure in Model III, and the combination of shear walls and floating columns in Model IV. Buildings with 20 stories or more are subjected to seismic performance studies using both the response spectrum and similar static approaches using Indian Standard code IS 1893(Part1) 2002 and ETABS-2018 software. Shear, drift, storey displacements, and the seismic zone IV period are derived.

In the case of types II, III, and IV, the storey drift decreased in comparison to a typical structure. In models III and IV, the storey shear concerning the normal structure increased, whereas in model II, it decreased. Model II has a longer floating column structure period than the other three versions. When compared to the other four models, the Model III construction exhibits superior performance, reduced displacements, and increased strength.
