Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings: A Review

Abstract

The construction industry includes a large spectrum contributing about 9-10 percent of GDP which makes it a very important part of the Indian economy. It also employs a large number of people in the form of labor and workforce in the industry. The construction sector previously used on-site fabricated structures whether in steel or concrete. With technological advancements, high-quality construction is being embraced. Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings (PEB) and prefabricated structures are being used especially in the industrial section of the construction sector. People now understand the benefits of high-quality PEB structures and more importantly realize that the projects will be executed on time. This paper presents the state-of-the-art technology adopted for Pre-Engineered Buildings which enhances the eco-efficiency, building optimization, and potential of Pre-Engineered Buildings in India.
