Comparative Analysis of Storey Drift and Base Shear Using ETAB and SAP Software: Diagrid Structure

Abstract

Design of high rise buildings is affected by the lateral loads due earthquake and wind force. There are many Lateral load resistance system such as, wall frame, shear wall, braced tube system, outrigger system. The diagonal grid system is widely used in steel building or in tall buildings due to its structural efficiency. It is nothing but vertical bracing system which transfer load by its triangulation configuration. In tall building storey drift and displacement is most important points as the view of design. In this paper, the comparison of Storey Drift and Base Shear of 32-storey digrid structural system with or without vertical column around
periphery building and Simple frame building is presented here using E-TAB and SAP Software. The comparison of analysis of result in terms of storey storey drift (AS PER IS 1893-2000) and Base Shear are presented here.
