Seismic Performance and Retrofitting Technique of Building in Indore

Abstract

The building considered was designed according to older seismic codes but the codes have been revised in later years, so building had been modelled using STAAD Pro software and deficiencies have been identified as per the procedure defined by IS 15988: 2013. It was observed that various beams are deficient in reinforcement and columns have flexural capacity less than the beams, hence strong column weak beams check is not satisfied. Retrofitting of such beams and columns is recommended by adopting the jacketing of beams and columns.
