The concept behind this project is to make a small advancement towards an enduring world. And that’s where we should make use of non-conventional and renewable sources of energy to generate electrical energy, rather than using conventional and non-renewable sources that damage nature and are depleting day by day. Also, demand for electricity is increasing day by day as the world is stepping towards advancements in various sectors, these sectors include automotive industries, manufacturing industries. With the increasing world population theirs’ increase in the amount of energy utilization. And with the shortage of natural gas and coal, the generation of more electricity is not possible. And using these non-renewable energy resources leads to damage to nature and people's health are also been affected. Nowadays EVs are been in more demand with various benefits. And people are also showing huge interest in these electric vehicles. Basically, electric vehicle reduces emissions and keeps nature clean. Today in this world people are more careful about the environment and that’s where these electric vehicles stand out from their expectations. Electric vehicle needs electricity to operate. Battery packs are used for electricity storage. So, the battery pack needs to be changed frequently after the range of distance is covered by a particular electric vehicle. So, the electricity will be more in demand for charging these battery packs. So, to generate more electricity without damaging nature a system is to be made for continuous power generation using non-conventional and renewable energy resources. A hybrid power generation model consisting of solar and wind energy for generating continuous power generation of electricity is a good option for it taking into consideration of natural balance. Generating power through solar panels and wind turbines together and storing it in battery packs for usage. A combination of two energy sources is known as a hybrid energy system, a system that provides power to the load. In another word, it can be defined as an “Energy system which is fabricated or designed to extract power by using two energy sources is called the hybrid energy system.” A hybrid energy system has good reliability, efficiency, less emission, and lower cost. In this proposed system, solar and wind power is used for generating power. And then the converted electrical energy will be useful for battery charging for electric bikes. Solar and wind have good advantages other than any other non-conventional energy sources. Both the energy sources have greater availability in all areas. It needs lower cost. There is no need to find a special location to install this system. This model can be installed on electric poles, besides highways. And will be a great source of combination for installation in low heights. The project consists of designing and fabricating the hybrid system & testing the performance of savonius vertical axis wind turbine. And the making of a hybrid power generation system to extract continuous power generation through both solar and wind energy, because solar fails during the night, rainy season, and cloudy season. So, to understand the characteristics and theory of the wind turbines and the various types of vertical axis wind turbines a literature review is to be done. Then a tool like CAD is used to generate a basic savonius rotor, and also make a setup system design of a hybrid power generation system. Then computer simulations both 2D & 3D are done to understand the characteristics of the savonius rotor and then obtain the data. Then a physical model is to be built and test it physically.
