http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/JoTS/article/view/7558

On-street parking is one of the most important aspects of the transportation system in any central business district (CBD) worldwide. Managing the on-street parking demand is an important issue in transportation planning, especially for metropolitan cities. Every car owner prefers to park their vehicle as close as possible to destination to minimize the walking distance, leading to overcrowded. The objectives of this study are to find out important parameters on on-street parking, generating a parking demand estimation model and to carry out sensitivity analysis to obtain most sensitive parameter(s) for demand estimation.
The data are collected from field survey. Four CBDs of Kolkata, viz. Camac Street, Dalhousie, Gariahat and Park Street have been selected as case study areas in this study. The estimated demand is found to be much higher than the present supply. The forecasted demand is also estimated. Statistical software like SPSS is used for analysis.
Mr. Debasish Das, Prof. Mokaddes Ali Ahmed, Mr. Saptarshi Sen

http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/JoTS/article/view/7559

Construction demolition waste”(CDW) form the major portion of solid wastes. These waste are deposited into public landfills.Roads are major consumers of aggregate and the influence of aggregate cost is more in total construction cost of the roads. In order to reduce the cost of construction of roads, the possibility of using building waste as aggregate in sub-base and base course is the main objective of our project. The main priority is to foment sustainable construction work, which has the advantage of avoiding the deposit of large quantities of construction waste at landfills and greatly reducing the use of borrow materials in construction projects.Marshall method of mix design gives a clear idea about the optimum bitumen content for the material of construction. It also determines the extend of binding of the CDW with the bitumen. This can help in effectively managing the road construction.
Ginsi.C (SYAMECE020), Saikiran.P (SYAMECE037), Suraj.I.V (SYAMECE050), Surya.P.V (SYAMECE051), Thara.T (SYAMECE052)

http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/JoTS/article/view/7557

In present condition it has seen that a road traffic system is a very complex system. In this traffic system, human participation plays a very vital role directly. Without involvement of the human population it is not possible to study the traffic system. The present study has been carried out on selected points like signal intersection, parking facilities, rotary, market and road analysis for Jalandhar city. The data collected within the radius of 5km on specific places, BMC Chowk, Gurunanak chouk, Ambedkar Chowk, Football Chowk. Kapurthala Chouk, HMV Chowk. This study has been carried out because lots of accidents are
happening in present days so this study helps to improve the facility which are required by humans like traffic safety, pedestrian facility, signal facility, rotary facility etc. so we can reduce the accidental rate.
Mani Mahesh
