Abstract

The use of online platforms for professional conduct assessments becomes increasingly prevalent; ensuring the integrity of these assessments becomes a crucial concern. Online professional conduct assessments are designed to evaluate individuals' ethical standards, adherence to professional codes, and compliance with regulatory requirements. However, the virtual environment presents unique challenges that must be addressed to maintain the integrity of these assessments.
The rapid growth of online education and remote work has necessitated the development of effective methods to assess professional conduct in virtual environments. However, ensuring the integrity of online assessments presents unique challenges due to the lack of physical supervision and increased potential for unethical behaviour. This abstract explores the strategies and technologies employed to uphold integrity in online professional conduct assessments.
To minimize the risk of academic dishonesty, various technological solutions can be implemented. Remote proctoring tools equipped with advanced algorithms can detect suspicious activities such as unauthorized access to external resources, plagiarism, or collusion. These tools employ facial recognition, keystroke analysis, screen recording, and AI-based analysis to monitor test-takers and identify potential integrity breaches.
Moreover, innovative methods like biometric authentication can be employed to verify the identity of participants, ensuring that the assessments are completed by the intended individuals. This technology utilizes unique physiological or behavioural characteristics, such as fingerprints or facial recognition, to authenticate test-takers before granting access to assessment platforms.
This abstract highlights the key considerations and strategies for ensuring integrity in online professional conduct assessments. Firstly, it explores the potential threats and vulnerabilities associated with the online assessment environment, including issues such as identity verification, cheating, and collusion. Secondly, it examines various approaches and technologies that can be employed to mitigate these challenges and preserve the credibility of the assessment process.
