Smart Home Waste Management Bin using IOT

Abstract

This paper involves the concept of Internet of Things and its application in waste management system. This work named IOT based Smart Bin involves with providing a cost effective and efficient solution to home bins. The system uses various sensors to detect user, the level of bin and type of waste. The lid of the bin opens and closes automatically when the user is nearby, thus, making the process contactless. The system will notify the user when the bin is full and can classify waste as dry or wet. Thus, it helps in preventing overflow of garbage from the dustbin and preventing unhygienic conditions near the bin.
